Pre/Post Care Instructions
Wood Therapy Body Contouring: Before & Aftercare
Wood therapy is designed to support circulation, lymphatic flow, and the appearance of smoother, more sculpted contours. To help you get the best results from your session, please follow these care guidelines.
Before Your Appointment
- Hydrate well the day before and the day of your session. Drinking plenty of water helps support lymphatic drainage and overall treatment results.
- Eat light 1-2 hours before your appointment. Avoid arriving overly full or on an empty stomach.
- Wear comfortable clothing that is easy to change out of and won’t feel restrictive after your session.
- Avoid alcohol for at least 24 hours before your appointment, as it can contribute to dehydration and increased sensitivity.
- Avoid heavy meals right before your session.
- Let us know about any health concerns before treatment, including pregnancy, recent surgery, varicose veins, bruising tendency, skin irritation, active inflammation, or any medical condition being treated by a physician.
- Arrive with clean skin free of heavy lotions, oils, or self-tanner on the treatment area when possible.
After Your Appointment
- Continue drinking water for the rest of the day and the following day to support your body’s natural elimination process.
- Avoid alcohol and excess caffeine for 24 hours after your session, as both can contribute to dehydration.
- Eat clean, balanced meals and try to reduce salty, greasy, or highly processed foods, which may contribute to bloating.
- Stay active with light movement such as walking to encourage circulation and lymphatic flow.
- Avoid intense workouts, saunas, and very hot showers for 12-24 hours if your body feels tender or sensitive.
- Expect mild redness or soreness in treated areas. This is common and usually temporary.
- Do not be alarmed by mild bruising if you are sensitive, though this should be minimal. If anything feels unusual, reach out promptly.
- Follow your treatment plan consistently for best body contouring results, as visible changes are typically enhanced by a series of sessions combined with hydration, movement, and healthy habits.
